Just for fun, the second in a series of iconic LIFE covers, I chose Zsa Zsa Gabor as she sported the LIFE magazine cover on October 15, 1951, one day before my birth.
When I was a little girl I wanted to be a Hollywood star. A lot of little girls did. However, many of the Hollywood stars' lives were sad and tragic. I read a quote the other day on the Internet, have no idea whose words they are, but they seem so similar to my thoughts.
"I've worked with a lot of great glamorous girls in movies and the theater. And I'll admit, I've often thought it would be wonderful to be a femme fatale. But then I'd always come back to thinking that if they only had what I've had - a family, real love, an anchor - they would have been so much happier during all the hours when the marquees and the floodlights are dark."
Reading and looking through the pages of this edition of LIFE are very interesting. I find the ads in these old-time-magazines are really amusing.
And, although Gabor's life was mostly one of turmoil and discontent, this feature story of Gabor was short, sweet, and upbeat. Her advice to the love-lorn was hilarious! Article cover photo was funny too with the huge splash of sparkle from her ring. Read it on a full screen laptop.

God looks within and not outward appearance.
But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart."
