In Every Season

Ecclesiastes 3:1 “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

Well, the leaves have turned beautiful shades of orange, red and yellow. It’s a beautiful season, isn’t it? Just like my brother Barry, I like to reminisce about our downtown Springfield, Ohio, in every season. There once was a time where everything was located downtown for every season. Now, downtown is still trying to make a come-back. But, it’s just not the same.

Let’s try to think of some things that would bring a different atmosphere to our downtown. Maybe some fascinating artwork on buildings that are quite different from what's already there. A real attention-getter, traffic-stopper! Maybe like this…

Well, maybe that'd be great for us cat lovers, but not so great for others. Okay. Let’s bring back the read from Barry about downtown. It will do the heart good! Yeah, this story was a 2-page spread in the "On a Mission Magazine" that published for over five years.

Well, we know downtown Sprigfield will never be like it once was. So, I look at it now and see the hope it gives in more seasons of life that I live.

Turning the pages of time to today to see all the great possibilities of what we have to enjoy. That's what I do, but I still sometimes reminisce about days gone by. There's nothing wrong with that!
