Proverbs 15:23 NIV “A person finds joy in giving an apt reply-and how good is a timely word.”

 

There is so much about this USA that we love, and know that God has blessed us. The rich, blended color of fall reminds us of the natural beauty of the country we see when we look for it.
    

As a person who had a career of working on Morning shows in radio, many opportunities came to interview a large variety of guests on numerous topics. One interview that stands out was when talking to Songwriter, Contemporary, and Christian Recording artist, Michael W. Smith.

 

During 911, when terrorists attacked America, it was a time of tremendous grief. Our first responders risked their lives to save others, and for all Americans we were shaken. We were never to be quite the same.
    

Talking with Michael W. Smith, he candidly shared with me that as a friend to President George W. Bush, the President asked him to have dinner with him in the White House. It was following 911. 
    

Michael W. Smith shared with me how difficult it was for our President to deal with the anguish of it all!  He wished all Americans could have been a fly on the wall to see and understand just how much our President grieved over what happened to our country.
    

As a result of dinner with the President of the United States, he and a co-songwriter came up with lyrics to attempt to lift the spirits of the country.  It is my belief that Michael W. Smith and Wes King did a memorable and outstanding job of doing so when they wrote, “There She Stands.”
