Prayer and Kind Ways

Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Nothing like a good cup of coffee in one hand, a pleasant breeze with sunshine, and a life lived to be kind to others. Often we serve God in what seems like the little things. God always has a plan. We must pray to see it.

This week while working on a project my husband and I were uncertain as to how to proceed because finances were tight.  God showed up when my husband’s check from work was surprisingly doubled. He had requested money in place of vacation days that he had worked at his company. He was told that wasn’t possible but for some reason there was a change of heart. My husband and I knew we should proceed on our project since the money was provided. Sometimes God leads us in practical ways.

Recently I went with a paint color preferred by a renter. Several shades darker than the painters wanted to see in a bedroom.  In deciding about this, I prayed to make a good decision and then looked up the word the paint was named. It was Halcyon, meaning a period in history where memories are happy and peaceful.

As we go about this life we can ask God for help with what feels like big decisions or small ones. God is always there to weigh in and give confidence to make wise choices.

You can be a kind person and still:

“Say no.
Prioritize your needs.
Set boundaries.
Disagree with people.
Be honest.
Challenge poor behavior.
Walk away from a toxic environment.
Make mistakes.
Stand up for yourself.
Protect your time and space.”
