Psalms 90:10
The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away.
I read somewhere that life after 70 is just another adventure. Let’s define ‘adventure’: “an unusual and exciting, typically hazardous experience or activity.” Yeah, I think “Life after 70” qualifies as that!
Lynn Berna and I had an unusual and exciting experience. We became authors. Yes, it happened in a relatively short time too. With the help of an artist friend, we wrote “Helping One Another, Relax, Refresh with Color and Devotions.” We gathered our favorite devotions from this Blog and added a few new ones and compiled our book.
So, life can be unusual and exciting!
My poor husband went out the door to the garage the other day and his arm caught on the handle and ripped some skin off! Ouch! He’s been trying to keep the right bandage on it so it will heal.
I mentioned to him that I was thinking about the hymn “I’ll Fly Away” as my devotional theme. He laughed and said, “I won’t be able to fly, I have a broken wing!” holding up his arm. Bless his heart. It’s tough getting old when your skin becomes so thin.
So, life can be hazardous.
Now that we’ve summed up some activities of “Life After 70” …here’s our fly away hymn in its entirety.
Some glad morning when this life is over
I'll fly away
To a home on God's celestial shore
I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh, Glory
I'll fly away
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by
I'll fly away
Just a few more weary days and then
I'll fly away
To a land where joy shall never end
I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh, Glory
I'll fly away
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by
I'll fly away
Yeah, when I die, Hallelujah, by and by
I'll fly away
Life after 70 is an adventure and then someday...we will be flight ready! Hallelujah, by and by!
