Less is More

How I love it when summer mornings start out cooler.  One can peacefully enjoy the porch with solitude and a piping hot cup of coffee.
This year I have a few less flowers and have replaced several chairs with a small round table and four chairs. Makes it perfect for having lunch on the porch. Also it provides a space to color and read good books.

Architect Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe famous for the minimalist design once said, "Less is more."  The older I get the more I seem to truly appreciate having less. Declutter a room and I find myself wanting to be in it more often.

In The Bible John 3:30 I think about what John the Baptist once said, "He must become greater; I must become less."  He knew and acknowledged by how he lived that Jesus is above all.

Later on in Scripture Jesus refers to John the Baptist in a very complimentary way. Matthew 11:11 from The Bible Jesus said,"Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."  "Less is more."
