Joy That Matters

Monday, September 21, 2025 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth where they can erode away or be stolen.” -Matthew 6:19 TLB

Drinking my coffee and listening to some ladies who share wisdom and insights on Joni Table Talk. “Happiness is just an emotion in a moment; but joy that is sustainable, and joy that is with everything, that is your strength.”

The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:19-20 NIV, if what we desire is riches and stuff; “Moth, rust, thieves can steal it and it can be gone and we have invested our life into it and then where can your joy go?” Our happiness and contentment has to be in The Meeter of All That We Need, The Living, Loving God.

Often we may find ourselves in difficult situations that have come from bad decision making, but God can use our mistakes to teach us. Deuteronomy 4:9 “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.”

Father God,
Thank you for giving us wisdom from bad decisions made and help us to make better ones.  Thank you for forgiveness and opportunities to do better. In Jesus Name, Amen.
