Proverbs 31:28 “Her children arise up, and call her blessed...”
I love this picture of my mom. She was only 15 when this was taken.
With Sunday being Mother’s Day, I can honestly say I miss my mom more now than ever. Sometimes I reach for my phone to call her then realize she’s gone. No longer there to talk to and reminisce about how our lives turned out and what we were looking forward to in the future.
I wrote about my dad and in writing about him I wrote how my mom could be difficult when I was growing up. She was and I remember many times I thought I was right, but I was wrong. She sometimes knew me better than I knew myself. I can’t say she always treated my dad fairly, but with me…I think she disciplined the only way she knew how, very stern. No doubt she was just like her mom.
Recently, I wrote about the “Proverbs 31 Woman”. Well, I wouldn’t go so far as to say my mom was classified through and through as a Proverbs 31 woman, but she was a blessing to her children, especially to me the last 30 years of her life. She was my best friend. Oh, how I miss her.
If you still have your mom, cherish her and spend as much time with her as you can.
Happy Mother's Day, Mom!
Happy Mother's Day to all moms, ones gone and ones here!
