Good morning!

As the “Waymaker” song says…”Even when you don’t feel it He is working.  Even when you don’t see it, He is working.  Never stops…never stops working. Waymaker, Miracle Worker, Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness, our God…that is who You are.”

Drinking my coffee, and reflecting on the words to the song, “Waymaker”by Michael W. Smith while enjoying the sunshine and gentle breeze.  My prayers go out to those who are brokenhearted today.  Broken hearts take a long time to heal; but they do heal.

The thing is God can make something beautiful in the heart of the one who has the scar.

Over the weekend we met family at “Howie’s Diner” and had lunch. 

The truck stop had the best dark chocolate cake.  We had an opportunity to speak with the owner of Howie’s, now in the third generation of ownership.  He spoke of growing up at the restaurant and how he loved his dad who fought in World War II under General George Patton.  His dad was the lone survivor in his battalion’s armored tank after fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. 

After the war, he bought the gas station, the truckstop and we enjoyed Howie’s Diner, with family. I hope you have a happy Labor Day.

Howie’s is a friendly diner with sweet waitresses and decorated with 1950’s memorabilia.
