Good, Good Father

Luke 24:45-47

“Then He opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations,”Jesus changes everything and makes all things beautiful in its time.

I remember when I was a little girl and my 90 year old neighbor, Mrs. Kearns, would work in her garden. Whenever I saw her out, I would go talk to her with the hope that she would tell me a Bible Story, and she always did.  Even till this day, how I love the stories of The Bible. Sometimes Mrs. Kearns would lose her balance while tending the garden and fall.  My Dad was always home as he worked in his shop behind our house as a welder.

All I had to do was call Dad for help with the neighbor and he would come running to help.  So I grew up knowing with certainty that whenever there was a need, my father would answer when I called and take care of what I needed.  Throughout my life until his death, my earthly father was always there for me when I called.

This helped me to place confidence and trust in my Heavenly Father that when I prayed for help, He would be right there to help.  Over and over again, God has proved Himself to me. He is faithful and will hear you when you pray and help you in your time of need
as a good, good Heavenly Father.

Chris Tomlinson sings about that “Good, Good Father,” with these lyrics.

“Oh I’ve heard a thousand stories of what they think you’re like.
But I’ve heard the tender whisper of love in the dead of night
And You tell me that You’re pleased and that I’m never alone
You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who You are…
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am
Oh, and I’ve seen many searching for answers
only You provide
‘Cause You know just what we need
before we say a word…
Your a Good, Good Father
It’s who You are
And I’m loved by You
It’s who I am…
You are perfect in all Your ways."
