When I was a little girl, the church we attended was held in a house. Grace Brethren church was a close knit group of around thirty to thirty-five believers.
As for me, they were like family and opportunities to serve were always available even for a child. This is where my personal faith began with Jesus as my Savior.
The hymns we sang in those days were especially meaningful. One of my favorites was "A Shelter in the Time of Storm." Some of the words were: "The Lord's our rock in Him we hide, A shelter in the time of storm. Secure whatever ill betide, a shelter in the time of storm. Oh Jesus is the rock in a weary land, a weary land, a weary land, oh Jesus is a rock in a weary land, a shelter in the time of storm." I Samuel 2:2. KJV "There is none holy as the Lord, for there is none beside Thee, neither is there any rock like our God."
For all my life God has been and will continue to be my Rock and my Shelter when storms arise. He will be there for you, also. Our country is facing some very hard times. Let Jesus be your rock in a weary land. "Don't tell God how big your storm is. Tell your storm how big God is."
