1 John 4:16 “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”
I love commercial jingles on both radio and television. I thought my original calling should have been a jingle writer, almost got such a job at a radio station in Huntington, West Virginia when I was much younger. That would have been great fun! So, it’s understandable that I love to listen to radio commercials.
“For the Love of Driving” commercial is a woman asking “do you remember how excited you were driving for the first time? The sights, the sounds, the freedom! You’re probably driving right now.” She continues, “I’ll stop talking for 12 seconds so you can experience that same feeling again.” Silence. Then it continues and I don’t have a clue how it finishes.
30 seconds. That’s about tops for my attention span, then I’m gone! That’s true with most adults. And, if a commercial cannot hold one’s attention for the first 12 seconds, poof…gone to something else!
For me, this may be true on radio and television commercials, but not in God’s word. He’s got my attention big time! Since that first day I opened my Bible. I remember the new, fresh feel of my leather Bible and knew it would become worn with use. Starting my day, with a devotion is the way I enjoy the love of God. What about you?
