Acts 10:2 “He and all his family were devout and God-fearing; he gave generously to those in need and prayed to God regularly.” This was said about Cornelius, a Centurion and his family.
I guess you could say that they had established a tradition of praying, blessing others and helping those in need. Since the Centurion's family was known for this, I imagine they got together to complete the projects and it must have kept their family close. Cornelius and his family also found out that God does not show favoritism. You find this out when you read the entire passage from the Bible in Acts Chapter 10.
Enjoying this time of year full of family celebrations, while sipping on a cup of rich, bold flavored coffee.
It’s been said, “Traditions are the stories that families write together. Keep writing our story.” This was suggested by the star of a Hallmark movie I was watching and loved the sentiment so much.
Traditions can help create happy and even spiritually meaningful memories for a family. Attending a church baptism, gathering for a Thanksgiving dinner or decorating the Christmas tree together are ways we stay connected.
Sometimes we get so busy that without the tradition of celebrating a birthday together, for example, there would be less time keeping in touch.
Staying close to family is worth the effort.
Looking back, you will be glad you strengthened that family culture, while building a bridge from the past to the future.
