October 30, 2023 I Peter 5:7 NIV “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”(Going to church helps to cure Worry Warts! Monster booth at church this weekend)
Knowing God has provided for our cares in the past helps us to trust Him in a present difficult situation.
A good cup of coffee isn’t realized until you drink it. And it’s the same with turning to God in prayer. A sign hangs on my utility door where I can see it several times a day. It reads, “Worry less.“ “Pray more.” Each time I see it, I pray! There is always something specific to mention to God in prayer.
It has been said that worry is a worthless pursuit and because of it, I actively choose to instead pursue God.
In II Chronicles 20:14-17, The Bible says God gave the people of Judah confidence to trust in Him. “The Spirit of the Lord said, the battle is not yours; it is the Lord’s.” During what I battle in life I also find the need to turn it over to God through prayer.
While thanking God for what He has already done, and knowing He will also take care of this worry, gives peace. Philippians 4:7 from The Bible assures those of us who put our trust in God that He will literally guard like a soldier.
Protecting our hearts and minds from the anxiety of worrisome situations as we pray. Over and over He has been there and proved Himself to be trustworthy in my life and to provide strength when needed the most.
