Americans love baseball, mom and apple pie, but, what they don't love is injustice.
Psalm 82:1,2,8 "God stands up to open heaven's court. He pronounces judgement on the judges. How long will you judges refuse to listen to the evidence? How long will you shower special favors on the wicked?"
As we wait on God for justice in life, we place our confidence in the Righteous Judge.
My prayer is God bless America, land that I love. As one starts out this Fourth of July day, find comfort in knowing that "all the nations are in God's hands," Psalm 82:8 from God's Word reveals.
America is known for its baseball, and apple pie. My Grandma Lovelace was good at baking an apple pie, cookies and just about everything else! Smiling, as I remember the day my 84 year old Grandma, Viola Gertrude Huysman Lovelace, proved her skill at baseball, too.
She played softball in the yard with our young boys, who were both squealing as she had a good hit and started running the bases! She had amazing energy for her age! On the same day, she decided to trim our hedge and had the boys gather the trimmings.
Talk about exhausted, the boys complained about being hot and tired. But Grandma Lovelace laughed and looked around for some other yard work to do. "Good exercise!" she told the boys.
Grandma Lovelace was a wonderful homemaker. It was always a pleasure to go to her home. Also, I am remembering her today because Grandma Lovelace had a temper like a firecracker and was born on the Fourth of July.
