First Snow

Monday, November 10, 2025 Isaiah 1:18 (New Living Translation) “Come now, let’s settle this,” says The Lord.  “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow.  Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”

Looking at the snow as I drink some coffee.

The view looking out my window at the bird feeders and our backyard. First snow. Beautiful.

Recently our little grandchild had a birthday so we took him shopping and Papaw decided we needed a couple of new sleds with the report of snow. My how cute it was to see the grandson dragging the sleds one stacked on top of another all around the store. One couple chuckled that he was really ready for snow, and that was true.

Ready to build a snow man, ready to shovel snow, and ready to eat snow ice cream.

But there is nothing whiter than snow.

Oh how fortunate we are to have a Savior which has washed away sins and has cleansed us from all unrighteousness; making it so that we are miraculously forgiven from all our sins and white as snow. What He did for us cannot compare with any other heroic act performed on earth.  Jesus, Our Savior, died on a cross for us.

As white as snow, and pure, to be clean from sin and able to have a friendship with God. All of this was made possible by Jesus, Our Savior who died on a cross, was buried and in three days rose again.  History and The Bible records many witnesses testified of this.

My seven year old grandson was baptized in church a couple of weeks ago.  A happy day for a child of God.

Psalm 24:5 in the New Living Translation is a reminder that, “Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. They will receive The Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their Savior.”

What a friend we have in Jesus.
