America Losing Its Grip on Biblical Truth

“You have the best grip of anyone I know. Keep up the good work. God loves you and so do I. Have a super day!” -Pat  

That was what Pat wrote in my mom’s journal book when he visited the nursing home where she lived for the last six months of her life. She was physically strong in her hands and spiritually strong in her heart and mind all through her life.

My mom, dad, and my grandparents wouldn’t recognize the happenings in our country today. I am sure they would be appalled at some of the political episodes that occur today. I know I am!

America’s grip on biblical truth is certainly dwindling. No one seems to care about the bible or ever reading it. Many people consider it a book full of fairy tales. It’s so sad to see our society heading this way.

I am reading for the second time Chuck Swindoll’s book, “Strengthening Your Grip…How to be Grounded in a Chaotic World”.

Although all chapters are compelling, here is an exempt from "Strengthening Your Grip on the Family"...

"If the shifting definition of family were not confusing enough, now we find the definition of marriage under attack. Having tossed aside traditional definitions of family, we no longer have a confident answer to the question, “What constitutes a valid marriage?” As more states pass same-sex marriage laws, we find ourselves perched on a slippery slope. Already, activists have begun challenging laws to have marriage bans lifted to allow for polygamy, incest, and even pedophilia. If ever there is a need for a nation to strengthen its grip on any one area of need, it is obviously the family."

I recommend this book highly. Swindoll hits all the areas where America is declining.

Pray for our country and especially the younger generation.

Keep a grip on what’s happening in the world around you and show how much you care.
