I came across a terrific Bible verse while watching the birds enjoying breakfast on this chilly winter morning.
Psalms 59:16 NASB "But as for me, I will sing of Your strength; Yes, I will joyfully sing of Your faithfulness in the morning, for You have been my refuge And a place of refuge on the day of my distress."

The world seems to be changing in one's own backyard. It is hard not to have heartbreak from it all. I am making reference to the seemingly growing lack of moral compass among people, an overload of illegal aliens coming to our country, and the need for reform in many areas.
When my daughter was small, the family was required to show our adoption paperwork. A special trip had to be made to the Combined Health District in the county to prove she was not an alien.
As I explained this to my friend, Jeannie, while we were driving there, my seven year old was carefully listening in the backseat of the car to all of this. Looking in the rearview mirror, I noticed she was wide-eyed and had a shocked look on her face. "Am I an alien from outer space?" she worriedly asked.
I answered her question while laughing and the saying, "never a dull moment," applied when discovering the need to validate our child being born in the USA for a census report.
Drinking my cup of coffee smiling about that day so long ago.

I wonder how many times we misunderstand God? We ask God why are You allowing this to happen? And on those days when it doesn't make a lot of sense, we just have to trust God to help us with the challenges. When we misunderstand, we wait for a glimpse of what is behind the event or events happening to us.
Leaving you with these words from the chorus of a song by The Gaither Vocal Band:
"Sometimes it takes a mountain
Sometimes a troubled sea
Sometimes it takes a desert to get a hold of me
Your love is so much stronger
than whatever troubles me
Sometimes it takes a mountain to trust You and believe."
